Artist Bio: Jesse is currently the Assistant Director and Percussion Caption Head for the DCI Sound Sport 2014 Champion Medellin Gran Band from Medellin, Colombia. In addition, he is the Director of Percussion for Ciudad de Medellin Banda Show and Buhos de Guatemala. Jesse began his marching career in 1982 with the Blackwatch Drum and Bugle Corps from Willingboro, New Jersey. He eventually aged out with the world famous Bridgemen in 1987. After finishing his junior Drum and Bugle Corps marching career, he decided to march one more season with the six time World Champion Bushwackers Senior Drum and Bugle Corps in 1988, winning the DCA World Championship and high percussion award. Jesse´s teaching experience began at Coatesville High School culminating in a TOB class 4A high percussion award, undefeated indoor season, and several more championships. In addition, he has taught at several schools in the Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey area including: Downingtown, C B West, Lake Forest, Delcastle and Pennsauken High Schools. His drum corps teaching experience includes Illusion Drum and Bugle Corps and Teal Sound Drum and Bugle Corps where he was the Staff Coordinator and Percussion Caption Head. His former instructors include Dave Rutherford, Chuck Grigg, Thomas Smith, and Bill “Woody” Woodward. Jesse currently lives in Chia, Colombia where he teaches English and Business Management at the Victoria School in Bogota, Colombia. In his spare time, he gives percussion seminars and judges marching band competitions throughout Colombia South America. Jesse proudly endorses Promark, Mapex, and Majestic.
