Majestic Percussion traces its beginning to the family firm of Van der Glas B.V. founded in 1921. In 1960, the “Majestic” brand name was born. With the growing popularity of drum sets at that time, the Majestic brand name was introduced on professional kits which were used by rock bands throughout Europe. By the late 60’s, Majestic marching and concert percussion quickly became the central focus of the company’s activities. The growth and expansion of the Majestic product line continued, including a complete line of timpani which were quickly recognized for their tremendous quality of sound and craftsmanship. Today, Majestic percussion instruments can be seen and heard in musical performances all over the globe. Majestic timpani are the choice of many of the finest ensembles around the world. In recent decades, Majestic mallet instruments have quickly become the preferred brand of many discriminating percussion performers, educators, and notable artists.

“The 60 years of Majestic started with an inspiring and dedicated group of people in Heerenveen,
Netherlands. Wim Van der Glas with his team of managers, workers, and an especially innovative R&D team made it possible for Majestic to grow into what it is today” said Majestic Holland Sales Manager Jaap Ruish. “After overseeing over 40 years of the history, I am really proud to be a member of this team and see a bright future for Majestic worldwide.” Majestic USA Brand Manager Nic Milliner added “The success of Majestic has been built on producing percussion instruments that allow players to achieve a vast array of sonic colors and textures appropriate in any musical setting. We are thrilled to be celebrating 60 years of craftsmanship and remain committed to an ever-evolving vision creating inspiring and intelligent designs for future generations of music makers.”
