Banded Story:

I don't remember a time in my life where music wasn't involved in some way. Its always been a constant source of fulfillment for me. My parents would tell stories of how they put a pair of sticks in my hand when I was old enough to sit up and how I would play to the music that they played in our house growing up. I'm sure that some might consider that a defining moment. I, however, would probably point to the year 1995. I saw my first drum corps show in 95 and it started my interest and focus on the marching activity. I remember going back to my high school and trying my best to emulate what I had seen. Up to that point my experience in music had been only what I had known from my early years being in band. That one drum corps show would go on the push me to become a better player and performer. It was the moment that I said to myself "this is what I want to do". From that moment I had a love of not only the marching activity, but all aspects of percussion. Music has always been there for me. It has provided opportunities that I would not have ever dreamed to be possible.
