Artist Bio:

Chilean-Panamanian Percussionist , She Started her first studies in the National Conservatory of Panama. Later, travels to Chile, where she finishes the basic stage studies in the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Chile. In this same University, she continues her Bachellor Degree and obtains her Degree in Fine Arts with Mention of Percussion, with the professors; Elena Corvalán and Ramón Hurtado. Subsequently, she obtained her specialty in Musical Performance, with Mention of Percussion with a Maximum Distinction, being the fourth woman in Chile to obtain this title, and the first in Panama. She returns to Panama, where from 2002 to date she belongs to the National Symphony Orchestra of Panama; She has worked as a teacher of the National Institute of Music in the subjects of Theory, Sight Reading and Percussion; On 2012 opens for the first time the Percussion Career at the University of Panama. She has performed in various musical activities, in Panama, Chile, Brazil, Nicaragua, Mexico, United States among others. Since 2003 she has created the "Mixtures" ensemble, with which she has developed a chamber music work incorporating vibraphone and percussion to acoustic and non-conventional electroacoustic formats, incorporating elements of folk music and jazz. She participated in the project "Tribute to Chile", of the Panama Jazz Festival, where she shared with musicians from all Latin America and North America, spreading and developing the Chilean music in international stages. Later, this project gave origin to the group "Chirihue", where she plays the vibraphone and develops some musical pieces of her own. She has recorded CDs with various artists in Chile and Panama, such as "Homenaje a Panamá" by violinist Luis Casal, "Legado de Mi Tierra ... Panamá" by Dabaiba Conte, "Despedida", by Ricardo Aguilera, to name a few. Currently, she teaches at the University of Panama, works as a percussionist in the National Symphony Orchestra of Panama, performs as percussionist of the "Chirihue" project, also she is the organizer of the Annual Percussion Encounter of the University of Panama. Currently, she is part of the " Encinar Quartet " where she performs as a vibraphone player, also as a conductor, and composer.
